Abstract:
Chemical or physical means can be used for pest control in food industries.
Using gas or physical means such as heat, the use of bioindicators may be helpful: little boxes con- taining some insects are put in the premises be- fore the treatment is applied.
After the treatment, the insects in the boxes are examined to check mortality.
The use of bioindicators must follow few and easy rules, which are explained in this work, to avoid an uncorrect evaluation of the treatment efficacy.
