Abstract:
Val Grande National Park and the Sesia Valley share the same
geological heritage and the same desire to protect and increase the value of
their natural and cultural heritage. The proposed Sesia-Val Grande
Geopark is located in northwest Italy where it sits astride the Canavese
segment of the Insubric Line, a 1-km-thick mylonite belt that is a major
tectonic boundary in the Alps.
