Abstract:
Antigenic alterations of experimental lymphomas can be induced by a proper treatment with antineoplastic agents. While immunologic properties of drug-treated tumors have received some attention, surface characteristic of altered cells have found scant interest. Reduced susceptibility to Con A agglutination of L1210/DTIC cells and EL4/DTIC cells in respect to L1210 and EL4 parental cells has been obtained. Following adsorbing assays and agglutination inhibition assays by the sugar moiety αMM, similar amount of Con A has been bound by either original or by DTIC-treated cells. Con A binding sites on cell membranes of experimental lymphomas have not been modified by the DTIC treatment, however the mobility of surface molecules is likely to be altered.
