REACTIONS OF AMINES AND RELATED SPECIES WITH TRANSITION-METAL PEROXO COMPLEXES

The reactions of amines and related species with molecular oxygen bound to a transition metal centre, are reviewed briefly. New results on the reactions of Pt(PPh3)2O2 with amine derivatives such as formanilides and imides are reported; from these reactions new amidohydroperoxoplatinum(II) complexes have been isolated. The related reaction of Pt(PPh3)2O2 with phenol is also described. A general mechanism for these deprotonation reactions is discussed.
