Abstract:
The product of the acid catalyzed rearrangement of 2-(1-naphthyl)-2,4,4-trimethyl-2,4-disilapentane is 2-(2-naphthyl)-2,4,4-trimethyl-2,4-disilapentane. This result completes the revision of a previous report in which 1,8-bis(trimethylsilyl)naphthalene was claimed to undergo acid catalyzed rearrangement to the 1,7-isomer.
