abstract:
This chapter (13) focuses on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence in the context of the revised EU product liability directive and the evolving EU cybersecurity regulation (e.g., EU Cyber Resilience Act). As more products rely on Machine Learning (ML), the peculiar cybersecurity vulnerabilities of ML become furthermore important with a prominent role played by the protection of the learning process. The defensive strategies should be designed considering data governance and protection as priorities and shall be implemented leveraging a mix of frameworks, policies, and techniques aimed to tackle, from a product liability perspective, the specific cybersecurity risks implied by the adoption of ML.
