The A. analyzes the reform of university recruitment, highlighting the aporia of the lack
of regulation on working hours. The study shows how the absence of time measurement exposes
researchers to structural vulnerability and “boundaryless work”. Drawing on EU case law and
constitutional principles, the paper points out the fragmentation of university regulations and the
decline of collective protections. The A. concludes by proposing the protection of working time as a
non-negotiable right to ensure the dignity and health of junior scholars.
