Anachronistic marginalia: An annotated copy of Ludovico Delle Colombe’s Risposte piacevoli e curiose (1608)

The National Library of Turin holds a copy of Ludovico delle Colombe’s Risposte piacevoli e curiose (1608), notable for its Italian handwritten marginal annotations, which may date to the 1660s (Coll. CIACC 256). This paper summarizes the key arguments of the Risposte, analyzes the annotations in five thematic areas, and explores the history of the annotated copy.
