abstract:
Polyamidoamines, including both PAMAM dendrimers and linear PAAs, represent a class of highly versatile, multifunctional polymers characterized by significant structural tunability. While their utility across a broad range of applications has been extensively investigated, their employment as flame retardants for polymeric
materials and textiles has gained attention only within the last decade. This review is specifically intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in this emerging field, elucidating the correlation between molecular architecture and flame retardant efficacy. The discussion further addresses the
inherent advantages and limitations of both PAMAM and PAAs in this context, offering a critical evaluation of their potential as next generation flame retardant systems.
