Abstract:
In this paper, which focuses on the poetics of the french poet Dominique Fourcade, the relationship between contemporary dance, poetry and improvisation are problematized and studied. Based on the assumption that the "most modern form of dance is also its most photographable," our analysis on dance in the poetic works of Dominique Fourcade lead us, firstly, to theoretically measure his way of conceiving the relationship between dance and poetry to Mallarme’s visions; secondly, to compare his way of writing and his work on “écriture” to some contemporary choreographies he recalls in his work: War Theme (1942, with Martha Graham, William Carlos Williams and Barbara Morgan) and MW (2001, with Mathilde Monnier, Dominique Fourcade and Isabelle Waternaux
