La "seconda" guerra alpina di Druso : L'antichistica italiana, le alpi retiche e le tensioni italo-germaniche negli anni Trenta

The paper aims to analyse the reception and political reuse of the figure of Drusus the
Elder in the South Tyrolean context during the fascist period. Particular attention will be paid
to Classical studies and their relationship with ancient sources. The analysis will show how the
interest in Drusus, which was most felt in the period between the Great War and the mid-thirties,
gradually disappeared after the alliance between Germany and Italy.
