Abstract:
This paper examines the works of three 16th-century women translators - i.e. Anne Cooke Bacon, Anne Locke Prowse and Maragaret Tyler - who, by englishing Ochino, Calvin and Ortunez de Calahorra respectively, made a valuable contribution to the translation activity of the age and, as a consequence, helped to shape the social, religious, cultural and literary contours of Elizabethan England.
