Abstract:
This essay proposes a first exploration on the relationship, the continuities and especially the
oppositions, between the theories of Michel Foucault and Claude Lefort. We will follow the
references in the texts of both authors, focusing on the 1970s. Their proximity, due to the
common reference to phenomenology and to the critique to structuralism, is soon replaced
by a profound difference visible in the conceptions of work (oeuvre), interpretation and in their
definitions of politics and power.
