Abstract:
Juridification in the food sector is a complex process regarding timing, level, reasons and ways. Food Law includes various aspects: statutes are coupled with case-law, hard law with soft law, public juridification with private juridification. Many interests are involved in the reasons of juridification and are often in conflict with each other. Juridification’s ways include creating authorities (in this case Efsa) and drafting European harmonization directives. Bearing this in mind the achievement of a total standardisation in the food sector isn’t a desirable outcome, while shared solutions are still in progress in order to guarantee the standard for operators and the end consumers.
