Abstract:
More and more assignments that were traditionally executed with paper and pencil are now carried out with the support of specific software applications or learning platforms. This opens the possibility to automatically collect a number of data concerning the way pupils interact with the system that administers the learning activity, and such information can help teachers monitor and understand how pupils engage with the assigned task. In the paper we propose a multidimensional model for describing the interactions of pupils with such systems, and we show how we apply it in the context of the Bebras Challenge, an international initiative aimed at introducing the fundamental concepts of informatics to a wide audience of pupils.
