Abstract:
The ant-lion, a hybrid animal which was born as a translation mistake in the Septuagint, appears in the Greek Physiologus, and later in the Latin versions Y and B. The Author examines the metamorphosis it undergoes in the tradition of Latin bestiaries. She takes into consideration as well the manuscript Casinensis 323 as a witness for the versio B of the Latin Physiologus.
