Abstract:
We describe an autologous stem cell transplant recipient who developed immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome (IRIS)
associated with Aspergillus terreus invasive pulmonary infection after recovery from neutropenia. Clinical and radiological worsening of pulmonary invasive aspergillosis coincident with a robust decline of serum galactomannan values and rising neutrophil counts should be
interpreted as IRIS and should not require changes to antifungal therapy.
